Peaky Blinders Meets Boho Chic at The Green, Cornwall.

Updated: Nov 17, 2023

The modern-rustic venue, The Green, in Cornwall, provided the perfect setting for this themed wedding, with its variety of stunning buildings to choose from.

Are you ready to get inspired by Hollie and Thomas's Peaky Blinders themed wedding? A beautiful combination of boho, rustic, and vintage elements with a modern twist.

They blended their DIY creations with hired items, bespoke signage, and stunning boho floral arrangements. The guests were entertained throughout the day with fun activities that matched the Peaky Blinders theme.

THE VIBE

"We had a Peaky Blinders themed wedding. This was chosen due to my partner's love

of the show and our love of the vintage style theme which turned out amazingly"

PLANNING & STYLING

"We didn't have a stylist but had a wedding planner from the venue. I used Excel to keep track of my costs and payments due for the wedding along with our wedding website (Say I Do). This helped with cutting costs for guests and ourselves on postage stamps.

I had an album on my mobile to save ideas and images seen from Google, Pinterest, and other wedding pages through Facebook".

The most important aspects to us were the venue and menu, so our guests could have the most incredible food and stay overnight with us to enjoy our 3 day wedding. It was really important to have incredible suppliers that I could rely on and trust with such a big aspect of our planning and wedding day. I had the most amazing suppliers who went above and beyond for us and helped create our beautiful wedding day, helping us plan and style accordingly throughout.

ENTERTAINMENT

We wanted to make sure our guests of all ages were entertained and had an

enjoyable day.

kids wedding activity bags

This included children’s activity packs which were absolutely perfect and worth every penny.

rustic garden games at a wedding

The outdoor games that entertained all ages and gave all a good laugh.

caricaturist at wedding drawing bride an groom

The most amazing caricaturist Cassie who just went out of her way to

help keep our guests entertained during the wedding breakfast and of course

throughout the day.

clay pigeon shooting

Clayzer (clay pigeon shooting) who just fitted right in with our theme and was the perfect entertainment for the adult guests to enjoy.

I love these Wedding day dares that Hollie designed for the kids, they had them instead of a menu. I think they are genius and a lot of fun!

DECOR & OTHER ITEMS

I personally didn’t make any DIY items or décor other than our photo pallet which

displayed images of us as a couple throughout the years and either purchasing or

hiring items to set the theme.

wooden post box and vintage display

I hired many amazing items from Nicola at Rustic Love. These were our welcome sign,

wooden backdrop with Happily Ever After neon light, unplugged sign, and card holders for our

table name cards, garden games and candlestick holders among other bought items.

We hired a few items from our wedding venue, The Green these were our rustic

drapes, table runners, haybales, and sweet cart.

rustic candy bar

Most of our flower arrangements were hired from the incredible Emily Rose Weddings & Events. The flower arrangements that were hired, were the table centerpieces, aisle flower arrangements, wooden archway backdrop, large pampas urn and our flower arrangement for the head table.

tall pampas floral arrangements

We saved some pennies by reusing flower arrangements and décor from the ceremony to

the wedding reception with the help of the venue moving these items for us.

There's not one thing I would have changed other than being able to spend more time with

my guests on the day of the wedding but it all goes by so quickly.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY

My biggest highlight would have been getting married to my best friend and being

around all of those family members and friends who love us.

I loved having our caricaturist images to take away and look back on.

I loved dancing with my children and seeing all of our guests enjoying themselves.

Our guests commented the most on the incredible food and entertainment that was

there for them and how beautiful our venue was with all of our décor. The children of course loved the activity bags, sweet cart and outdoor games - that they did not stop playing with all day and evening.

All our guests loved The Swing Kings who did an excellent job of bringing the atmosphere for our ceremony and their wonderful signing kept everyone in awe during our cocktail hour.

. ADVICE

  • Take your time!!!! I brought a lot at the start of planning which could have been found a lot cheaper but I was just so excited to get started and didn’t think budget.

  • Remember it’s your day and do it the way you want, it is going to by so quickly during the planning and the actual day so don’t stress and although you want to entertain your guests and make sure they have an amazing time, you need to enjoy the process yourself.

  • Don’t plan above your means and budget. There is always a way to have the wedding of your dreams at a cost that you can afford.

  • Always think about what is important to you and your partner and how you can incorporate this on the day so you both can enjoy the day and your day can represent your life together and your personalities.

Indeed, it was an incredible day, and I'm thrilled to have played a part in bringing their vision to life. The couple opted for our Option 2 - DIY delivery to the venue, so I loaded up the van with everything they needed and made my way to Cornwall. I took care of setting up the garden games, backdrop, and signage, while they had the freedom to style the smaller items themselves. Emily Rose Events put the finishing touches on with those stunning floral arrangements. A big thank you to Hollie and Thomas for being so fabulous to work with and massive congratulations on your beautiful wedding day!
